Holiday Card Series 2016 (Part 3)

Hello, crafty friends! I'm topping by today to share the latest creation of mine that features a couple of my favorite stamp sets by Gerda Steiner Designs and "Neat & Tangled". I've recently had a chance to visit a workshop in Slovenia hosted by super talented Dorota Kopec. This was definitely a great experience where we've learnt a couple of techniques used by Dorota in her works. So today's vintage card with non-traditional Christmas colors was created based on what we were shown at the workshop:

Something a little bit different but still super cute and fun:) What do you this of this?

Hope you've enjoyed today's card! Have a nice day and thanks for stopping by!

Guest Designer Spot Over At Gerda Steiner Designs - Part 3

Hi there everyone! I'm back today to share with you a card that lots of people want to know how to make. You are definitely right, it's a magic slider card, a card that will fascinate any child that receives one from you. And right now we'll try to pull back the shroud of secrecy on how to make such a breathtaking card:

To tell you the truth, the magic slider card is a very easy thing to make. You can find lots of video tutorials and written instructions on the Internet nowadays, but I would like to share with you the one that I came across a couple of weeks ago and loved how clearly everything was explained there. So let's start with the link to this tutorial (although it's in Russian, the pictures will give you a clear idea of how the whole trick looks like): http://sovushkaslavia.blogspot.si/2016/11/blog-post.html. So the main secret is to use two layers - stamp the same image on the acetate and on the cardstock and color it.

And now let's try to put the whole process into step-by-step instructions:
1. Stamp your chosen image once on the acetate and once onto the white cardstock/watercolor paper. Color in the image on the paper as you wish.
2. Put aside both images for a short time to dry.
3. Once the image on the acetate is dry, place it over the colored one so that it lines up precisely. Hold it in place with a washi tape, and trim the acetate to fit the card. Do this carefully so that the acetate doesn't move off the colored image.
4. When this part is done, apply Salty Ocean Distress Ink onto the frame and the background of the white cardstock and spritz some water on them.
5. It's now time to start to put the whole card together. Glue the colored image on the card base and the acetate on the frame. This should be done very carefully so that both images go perfectly together. Once this is done, glue the frame on the card base leaving one side unglued/open for a piece of white paper to separate both images and work magic.

And now let's show everything in motion:)

You can see that the image is plain:

But when you slide it, it becomes colored:

Magic? Definitely yes;)

I hope you liked my little inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Guest Designer Spot Over At Gerda Steiner Designs - Part 2

Hi there, crafty friends! I'm back today with another card featuring 2 very cute and fun stamp sets by Gerda Steiner Designs. Here is my juggling Santa to hopefully cheer you up and bring some more inspiration on the first day of the week:

I started off my card by stamping cheerful Santa from "Snow Angel" stamp set onto a piece of paper, colored him with my Copics and fussy cut him leaving snow angel part aside. Once this was done, I stamped 5 boxes of presents from "Up On the Housetop" clear stamp set, colored and fussy cut them as well. And then comes the most interesting and important part of the whole card - the front panel. I first stamped and heat embossed the snowflakes and after that started to apply different Distress Inks onto the panel. Once finished, I spritzed some water on the panel and adhered the fussy-cut images to the foam for more dimension. To finish off my card and to add some contrast to these vibrant colors, I decided to add "Merry Christmas" sentiment in black color. To be honest, I was very happy how everything turned out in the end.

A couple of days later I've made up my mind to use the same technique and colors on another card of mine featuring "Naughty Puppy" - November's image for monthly progressive challenge over at gsd-stamps.com. So here is what I came up with:

Oh, these vibrant and contrast colors can really do their magic, don't you think?:)

I hope you liked my little wintry inspiration. Thanks for stopping by! See you next time!

Guest Designer Spot Over At Gerda Steiner Designs - Part 1

Hello everyone! Sorry for being absent for quite a long period of time, but it's been really busy here for the last couple of weeks without a chance to sit and create something new. Luckily, I've got those days behind and I'm fully ready to share with you some of my recent creations. And I would also like to mark my return with the big news I've been waiting to share with you for quite some time now:) About a month ago I've been contacted by a super talented Gerda Steiner who asked me if I wanted to do a guest spot for her. And what do you think was my answer?:) Today my first Guest Designer post went out into the world and I'm super excited to share this news with you!

Today I want to show you 2 very wintery cards featuring the adorable "Cheerful Hedgehog" and "Fall Mice" stamp sets. You won't believe, but these stamp sets are so versatile that you can easily use them for your Christmas cards. So, let's start ...

For my first card I chose 2 little cuties and asked them to trim a Christmas tree:)

I started off by creating ink blended sky with setting sun. After this I used texture paste and added some stars and falling snow to create a perfect winter scene. While the background was drying, I stamped the hedgehogs onto a piece of paper and colored them with my Copics. Then I die cut the rest of the elements and colored some of them with Distress Inks. The only thing which was left was to put all pieces together. Once it was done, a huge part of the work was finished. Except for some last touches:) The first and the main one was to draw a string of lights my hedgehogs are going to trim a Christmas tree with - checked; second - to draw some shadow under everything and everyone who is staying in the snow - checked; and last but not least - to add some Wink of Stella to stars, street lamp light and snow - checked. And that's how the first car was created.

Second card was done by following the same steps, except this time I went for heat embossing instead of applying texture paste and replacing one hedgehog with a mouse.

Easy peasy, isn't it? Guess these are all tricks I was planning on sharing with you this time;)

I hope you liked my little inspiration. Thanks for stopping by! See you next time!

Happy Fall!

Hi there, everyone! Hopping onto the blog real quick to share some recent creations of mine featuring one of the most amazing stamp sets I've had a chance to work with - "Fall Mice" by Gerda Steiner Designs and "Magical Dragons" by MFT. Since it's already September (where did summer go?), let's start with the set that includes 4 different type of mice which are just ready for fall. For today's card I've decided to use 3 of them: the one which is pushing a wheelbarrow, a little mouse sitting inside, and the cutie which is holding a pumpkin in his hands. And here is what I came up with:

Moving further onto magical dragons ... Ain't they super cute?
When I first came across this stamp set, I knew I had to have it. This cuties will definitely give you lots of opportunities to create your own fairy tale, of course, with only happy ending;) And now, without further ado, here is what I came up with for my very first card:

CDD August Release Blog Hop - Day 1

Welcome to the Craftin Desert Divas August Release Blog Hop. We have some wonderful stamps and dies that we will be sharing with you.

All stamps are in the CDD shop and now available for purchase HERE.

We also offer SVG stamp outlines for .99 only, they work perfectly with your cutting machine. You must have a program that opens these files. This is a great alternative to coordinating dies and much less expensive.

Here's what I've created for you:

For today's project I've decided to go with "Your Wish" clear stamp set and create a shaker card! First, I've created a frame and made the background with Distress Inks and a blending tool. After it dried, I white heat embossed the sentiment in the top right corner and sprinkled some water and white paint on the whole background paper piece to make it look like a starry night sky. I then colored a genie with her cute little friend with Copic markers and then placed them on the card. To finish off my project I added some sequins and foam tape on the background - and it was done! :)

And now here are the specials for this release:
**New Shimmer sequins will be on SALE for $1.00.
**FREE SHIPPING with minimum on orders placed.
Shipping minimum orders:
$10 USA use Code: 10SHIP
$15 International use Code: 15SHIP

CCD "Watercolor" Linky Party Week 2

Hello friends! The theme for this Linky Party at Craftin Desert Divas is "Watercolor"! We would love to see all of your projects that fit this theme! So go ahead and craft it and link it up on the Craftin Desert Diva's Blog.

Every other Monday will mark the beginning of a new semi-weekly Linky Party over
at the CDD blog. We hope you will share your projects with us! And don't forget
about  the prizes! Every Linky Party will have a winner and a Top 3!
The more times you link up... the more chances you have to win!!

Our Sponsors for this Linky Party are:
One 4"x 6" stamp set
One Digi Stamp of choice

And here is what I came up with:

For today's card I've decided to get back to ink smooshing - a technique that I haven't used for quite a long time now. I first smooshed the panel with Picked Raspberry distress ink, let it dry and then adhered it on the patterned paper panel. All stamps were colored with Copic markers and fussy-cut so that they can be placed in the middle of the scene. Once it was completed, I stamped a sentiment onto the card and then added sequins to the trees.

I guess this is it for today:) Hope you all have enjoyed this inspiration for the current Linky Party at Craftin Desert Divas and got inspired to join our challenge!

Here are all the CDD products I used:
